So What Exactly is a Potato Rumbler?

Potato rumblers are useful machines when running a catering business. Essentially, a potato rumbler quickly peels and washes potatoes prior to cooking or additional prep like cutting into chips or cubes. In no time at all, you will be baking, frying or roasting perfectly prepped food! Rumblers are especially useful if chips, mash or roast potatoes feature heavily in your menus. Your local chip shop, primary school and carvery are bound to regularly use a potato rumbler machine!

What Does a Rumbler Machine Look Like ?

A potato rumbler is an industrial-grade, electric machine constructed from a cast metal alloy and stainless steel. It has a large central drum into which you place the food to be prepped. This drum is lined with an abrasive plate, essential to complete the peeling task. From the drum, there is an exit chute, from which peeled and cleaned potatoes are dispensed.

How Does a Rumbler Work?

When in operation, potatoes/ root veg and water are rapidly spun around the abrasive-lined drum. Thanks to the abrasive surface, potatoes are quickly peeled and washed. The process reduces skins to very small particles. These are then simply washed away.

Simple Steps to Keep a Potato Rumbler Clean

Spud peeler machines are straightforward to clean. All you need is a cloth and brush suitable for cleaning, as well as plenty of water. First, remove the abrasive liners, clean the stirrer with a brush, clean the lid and cylinder with a cloth, wash the base with water, thoroughly brush the abrasive plate and empty/ clean the filter.
